PPL Summer School Lecture on Computational Effects

Cong gives a lecture on “an introduction to computational effects: from programming to theory” along with Prof. Katsumata and Prof. Sekiyama at the PPL Summer School 2022.

Prof. Khatchadourian’s Visit

Professor Raffi Khatchadourian at CUNY Hunter College visited our group from August 10 to 24. He gave a seminar talk and had discussions with our members.

This visit was supported by the JSPS BRIDGE fellowship, and originally planned two years ago. We had to postpone the visit (actually three times) due to COVID-19, but are pleased to make it happen.

Keynote Talk on High-Level Programming Abstractions for GPGPU at CTHPC2022

Masuhara gives a keynote talk on “High-Level Programming Abstractions for GPGPU” at the 27th Workshop on Compiler Techniques and System Software for High-Performance and Embedding Computing (CTHPC2022).

Two New Undergraduate Members

We welcome the two new undergraduate members to the group in this spring.

We now have 17 student and 2 faculty members, and would like to be more productive than before!

Graduation March 2022

We celebrated graduation of our members. At the end of the two years of working online, the group members managed to get together to applause the graduating members’ hard work.

Kouhei Arai, Junya Nose and Fathul Asrar Alfansuri received the Master’s degrees. Fathul will pursuit the PhD degree in our group.  Arai and Nose will start working for software companies in Japan. Ayumu Saito, Kazuhiro Tsunoda and Syouki Tsuyama received their Bachelor’s degrees, and will pursuit the Master’s degree in our group.We wish for their bright future, and hope we can see each other soon!

Cong Received Best Poster Award from PPL 2022

Youyou Cong received the best poster award for her presentation “Toward Type-basde Generation of Music” at PPL 2022. She won the awards two years in a row!

Two New Members

We welcome the two new members to the group in this fall.

Though both are currently waiting for a permission to land in Japan, they already have started their study by using video meetings. We wish that they will be able to land in Japan and accelerate their study soon.

ECOOP Paper on SignalJ, a Persistent Reactive Programming Language

A paper entitled “Signal Classes: A Mechanism for Building Synchronous and Persistent Signal Networks“, authored by Tetsuo Kamina, Tomoyuki Aotani, Hidehiko Masuhara, is presented at European Conference on Object-Oriented Programming (ECOOP 2021).

Talk on Nested Object Support for GPGPU at ARRAY 2021(@PLDI)

Chenxin Jizhe and Hidehiko Masuhara give a talk on “Nested Object Support in a Structure-of-Arrays Dynamic Objector Allocator” at the ARRAY 2021 workshop, co-located with PLDI 2021.
